PEO EIS formalizes new product office charged with enterprise business systems convergence
Col. Rob Wolfe, project manager for PEO EIS’s Army Data and Analytics Platforms project office, welcomed Jeannie Winchester as the new product lead for the Enterprise Business Systems – Convergence (EBS-C) product office at a virtual assumption of charter ceremony held Feb. 3.
PEO EIS’s new EBS-C product office is charged with the creation of the acquisition strategy, as well as development and deployment, of the Army's modernized/converged enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. As part of the Army’s broader EBS – Multi-Functional Capabilities Team (EBS-MFCT), the EBS-C product office will help plan and implement the Army’s ERP modernization effort by 2027. By integrating several major ERP systems in the cloud, the Army aims to transform its business processes, simplify Soldiers’ day-to-day business and sustainment-related activities, drive readiness through faster and more accurate battlefield decision-making, and enable dominance during multi-domain operations and large-scale combat operations.
Citing Winchester’s more than 30 years of experience in information technology and Army acquisition, Wolfe said he couldn’t think of anyone better to assume the charter for the EBS-C product office.
“There are people who are in the Army; there are people who work for the Army, and there are people who serve the Army. Jeannie, no doubt, serves the Army,” he said.
Winchester, who helped lay the groundwork for the product office over the past several months, said she was honored to become its first leader.
“This program office is responsible for building a single IT system that will replace at least six ERP systems — a monumental commitment of resources for the Army,” said Winchester.
Recognizing the scope, scale and importance of this effort, Winchester promised to support her team.
“I could not have asked for a better team. ...Know that as your leader, I will always have your back,” she said.
