ARDAP Hosts Relinquishment of Charter Ceremony for AMIS Product Office
PEO EIS’ Army Data and Analytics Platforms (ARDAP) project management office hosted a relinquishment of charter ceremony June 2 for its Automated Movement and Identification Solutions (AMIS) product office, whose two major programs are now integrated with ARDAP’s Logistics Information Systems (LIS) product office.
Crediting outgoing AMIS Product Lead Keith Baylor with introducing multiple key capabilities to AMIS’ Transportation Coordinators – Automated Information for Movements System II (TC-AIMS II) — an integrated transportation information system — ARDAP Project Manager Col. Rob Wolfe presented Baylor with the Army Civilian Service Commendation Medal. Among other achievements, Baylor oversaw the successful integration of a commercial off-the-shelf system employing lasers and 3D with TC-AIMS II, enabling the rapid scanning of brigade vehicles and importation of highly accurate data into the information system. This accomplishment has significantly reduced the time required for brigades to get underway.
Both TC-AIMS II and the Radio Frequency In-Transit Visibility (RF-ITV) program — which combines data from fielded radio frequency identification devices, cellular and cell-wide tracking devices, processes the data and redistributes it to numerous other systems across Army and DOD joint forces — will continue to be delivered as part of ARDAP’s LIS product office, managed by Product Lead James Winbush.
Baylor, who is assuming a new role as product lead for ArmyIgnitED within EIS’ Defense Integrated Business Systems portfolio, expressed pride and thanks to his former AMIS teammates, and reminisced about the product office that he led since July 2019. He remarked that AMIS systems have supported the movement of units and equipment during every major conflict and exercise since at least the liberation of Kuwait, and that no matter what leadership changes occur, TC-AIMS II and RF-ITV have the mission to continue to support the deployment and tracking of forces and equipment until a change in mission takes place.
