PEO EIS Leaders Receive Awards for Accomplishments
Several leaders across PEO EIS’s Business Mission Area and Networks, Cyber and Services portfolios recently received awards for outstanding contributions to Army and DOD mission efforts.
In August, Col. Robert (Rob) Wolfe, project manager for Army Data and Analytics Platforms (ARDAP), and Lt. Col. William (Bill) Reker, product manager for Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army), were both recipients of the Army Aviation Association of America’s Knight of the Honorable Order of St. Michael award. The award is designed to recognize an individual’s long-term support and/or legacy with significant and long-lasting impact to Army Aviation. Wolfe and Reker received the honor for their leadership of GCSS-Army, including Increment 2, which involves Enterprise Aviation. GCSS-Army, headquartered at Fort Lee, Virginia, has since transitioned from EIS’s ARDAP portfolio to its Defense Integrated Business Systems portfolio.
On EIS’s Networks side of the house, Col. Justin (Jay) Shell, project manager for Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems, received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal from Brent Ingraham, executive director of the Pentagon’s Joint Rapid Acquisition Cell, in an October ceremony at PEO EIS headquarters at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Shell was recognized for his outstanding work in coordinating DOD-assisted acquisition support for the COVID-19 interagency response during his service as chief of staff of the Defense Assisted Acquisition Cell within the Joint Rapid Acquisition Cell under the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment.
