Applied Cyber Technologies wins prestigious acquisition writing award
On Jan. 4, Lt. Gen. Bob Marion, Army Acquisition Corps director and principal military deputy to the assistant secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)), announced the winners of the 2020 Maj. Gen. Harold J. “Harry” Greene Awards for Acquisition Writing, and PEO EIS brought home one of the top honors.
Bonnie Evangelista and Fianna Litvok of Defensive Cyber Operations’ Applied Cyber Technologies product office were named award winners in the category of acquisition reform. Their winning entry, entitled “Evolutionary Acquisition: Closing the Loop and Fulfilling the Promise of Rapid Cyber Acquisition,” will be published in a special supplement to the spring edition of “Army AL&T” magazine.
The Maj. Gen. Harold J. “Harry” Greene Awards program is designed to advance understanding of and influence the dialogue about Army acquisition. The competition is named for Maj. Gen. Greene, the deputy commanding general of the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, who was killed Aug. 5, 2014 while visiting Marshal Fahim National Defense University in Kabul, Afghanistan.
ASA(ALT) also announced award winners in the acquisition writing categories of future operations, innovation, and lessons learned. Entries were judged based on persuasiveness, clarity and strength of argument, innovation, relevance to current or future environment, and feasibility.
More information about the awards program and winners can be found in this “Army AL&T News” story.
