AIT Assumption of Charter
On Oct. 4, PEO EIS formally unveiled its newest product lead office, Allied Information Technology (AIT), during an assumption of charter ceremony hosted by COL Chad Harris, project manager, Installation Information Infrastructure Communications and Capabilities (I3C2), on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. During the ceremony, Mr. Andrew Strand accepted the charter as the product lead, saying, “I am absolutely honored to accept this charter, and, on behalf of the whole team, I want to say how excited we are about the opportunity to represent this PEO as one of the Army’s largest formal providers of IT systems and services to allies and foreign partners around the globe.”
AIT, formerly known as International Programs Division, will fall under I3C2’s portfolio and supports the Army’s security assistance mission by developing, delivering and sustaining non-standard command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence capabilities on behalf of foreign allies and partners, primarily through the foreign military sales process, but also under various building partner capacity programs, congressionally mandated funding initiatives and other security cooperation enterprise activities. These solutions enable foreign partners to better secure and defend their individual sovereign spaces and increase their capacity to contribute to a broader collective security posture. AIT’s work supports mutual U.S. and foreign interests by strengthening bilateral defense partnerships, enhancing coalition building and interoperability and increasing the readiness of partners in uncertain, complex and potentially hostile security environments.
“Andy joins us with a wealth of diverse experience,” stated COL Chad Harris, PM I3C2. “I am confident that he is the right person at the right time to lead this extraordinary team.”
AIT has offices and personnel in Northern Virginia, Central Florida and Germany, and conducts security assistance activities in countries across most geographic combatant commands.
